Hello fellow beauty lovers.

Whoever doesn’t know of this girl right here has clearly been living under a rock. She has been THE It Girl since the beginning of 2014. The 17-year-old half-sister of Kim Kardashian has always been kind of overlooked. But man, did she grow up nicely.

Ever since the beginning of the year, I have been hearing “Kylie Jenner inspired Makeup” or “Kylie Jenner inspired Hair” but nothing beat the millions of times I heard “Kylie Jenner Lips”. I see that my colleague Lara already devoted an entire article to the beautiful Kylie. But I would still like to present my personal approach to recreating her pouty lips.

Well, one thing is for sure, Kylie has been rocking a beautiful nude shade, which caused a major Sales boost at the MAC counters. Everybody and their mothers were looking for the perfect nude for their complexion. I’ve been on the waiting list for “Velvet Teddy” for almost 3 months now – and nothing! Still patiently waiting. But it has been told that she also uses MAC’s “Brave” lipstick – a rather pinky nude and MAC’s “Faux” lipstick – a slightly darker nude, still with pink undertones. In combination with either of these two she is said to be using MAC’s Lip pencil in “Soar” or “Whirl”, which has also been sold out ever since the Lip craze reached its peak.

Wow! Longest introduction EVER but it was so necessary to get on eye level with you about this Kylie Jenner phenomenon before I get to the real tutorial of today. Well, some of you may or may not know that I am of Asian origin. Thus I have, like so many Asian girls out there, yellow and warm undertones. So I thought, hey, Kylie Jenner is no pale girl, I could rock the colors she is said to be using, too. So I went out, got to the counters and tried out the different lip combinations but it just didn’t work out for me. The colors were way too pink for my Asian complexion. So I looked for alternatives and found them!

My Tip for today revolves around my personal interpretation of the “Kylie Jenner Lip”. It works for my complexion as an Asian girl the best.

I came down with using just “Whirl” Lip pencil by MAC but with another lipstick: MAC’s Twig. Twig is a more brownish and dark nude. It looks stunning on mid-tone complexions with yellow undertones and it definitely gave me the nude pout I have been craving.

I really hope this little tip can help you guys to get your Kylie Jenner pout if you haven’t managed it so far with the choice you’ve been given.

Yours truly,

Lana
