CFW1

The capital of the People’s Republic China turned into a shiny and colorful fashion metropolis from October 25th to November 2nd, attracting countless fashion enthusiasts from all over the world and the global press. The China Fashion Week was founded in 1997 and since then has been hosted two times in a year in Peking. In March, the fall and winter collections are presented, while in October the spring and summer collections for the coming year are showcased. The event includes professional competitions and exhibitions apart from the essential traditional fashion shows.

Within 16 years, the Fashion Week China didn’t only succeed in establishing itself as a first-class platform for fashion design, ready-to-wear, accessories and styling, but it also managed to become known as an international spectacle focused on supporting young labels and designers. In the year 2011, the Fashion Week started its own strategic collaboration with the leading luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz. From then on, the new name Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week could reach a new level of fame worldwide.

One of the participating designers this season is, inter alia, the brand EKOKO Créateur which was founded in 2002 in Paris. EKOKO Créateur designs fashion for women who prefer high-quality clothing. For this reason, the brand places value on the elaborate and careful processing of the fabrics. The brand makes sure to connect the western as well as the eastern culture, convincing us with a wealth of details and a richness of extravagant prints which turn some of their garments into real eye catchers. Here is a small selection taken out of the fall and winter collection 14/15.

Another brand which was present at the MBCFW was BANXIAOXUE. The former designer of the brand Ben Pu is someone who feels deeply connected with nature and therefore is committed to protecting the environment, which is reflected by his creations. The use of natural materials like cotton, hemp and silk therefore stand in the foreground and form a harmonious symbiosis, incorporated into clear and pure shapes and lines.

Apart from these two labels, countless additional Fashion Shows with talented designers and outstanding collections await us at the Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week. We really loved the different interpretations of the seasonal trends for the coming spring and summer. Looking back, we can say: Taking a glance at this fashion spectacle was really worth it.
