Hello fellow beauty lovers.

Welcome back.

Start off your day with a nice cup of hot water and one or two lemon slices. Add a slice of protein bread or ordinary wholegrain bread topped with cottage cheese and turkey and a hand full of veggies. Why? Sit tight and let me explain.

I recently browsed the web and stumbled across a rather interesting article. I already knew that it can be extremely beneficial to wake up to a glass of water. And I knew the effect lemons can have on our system. But this article told me to drink warm or hot water infused with lemon.

The warm water protects your digestive tract and ensures a smooth process in your belly. Especially in the morning we need things to go just as they’re supposed to go because your system can be rather slow in the morning. See it as something like preparing your car for a road trip. The lemons aren’t there just for kicks. They actually purify and stimulate your liver as well as your stomach acids.

I’ve been eating protein bread for quite some time now to ensure an optimal protein intake. I am a firm believer that you don’t actually need expensive protein shakes to reach the recommended protein intake.

Nevertheless, protein bread is only recommendable if you are pursuing a strictly protein-based and low-carb diet, which supposedly good for burning fat really fast. In the end, protein bread can’t be considered beneficial for a diet because it contains a lot of fat and therefore can be called a real calorie bomb.

If you prefer a real power breakfast, carbohydrates are absolutely essential! Wholegrain bread delivers many filling long-chain carbohydrates and are additionally packed with dietary fiber.

I slab on a little bit of cottage cheese as a substitute for butter because, well, it has less fat, more protein and a hell less calories. Then I add a slice of turkey or chicken breast, which you can safely consume without having to feel bad about it (I surely hope so seeing that a slice has mere 19kcal). In addition to that, I like to add a hand full of cherry tomatoes and salt because they sure bring color into the picture and are rich in vitamins. If you have a lot more time on your hand, feel free to mix and match and add veggies or even a hard-boiled egg to the breakfast. I for one am quite satisfied after such a meal like the one I described above. It holds about 250 – 300kcal and is the perfect low-calorie start into your day.

What do you guys eat for breakfast?

Yours truly,

Lana
