Hello fellow beauty lovers.

Welcome back to Readthetrieb.com and to my very last post in my Skin Care Series. If you’ve missed my last posts and you’re curious about how to determine your skin type or how you could care for your skin a little bit better, then click here.

I’ve told you in my previous post that this topic concerning moisturizer after having washed your face and used a peeling is really important to me. That is precisely why I would dedicate a whole post to this. I have always been confused about creams and lotions, especially when it came to my face. I have combination to oily skin and I never figured out whether I fed it with too much oil, fat or moisture and whether it’s this cluelessness which caused my former shiny and oily face.

Our facial skin is very picky when it comes to skin care. We have already established that in the past two weeks. And I would like to think that you guys know by now which skin type you are. The complicated thing though is that our skin can change its mind whenever the season changes. That is why I drafted out an overview for you guys in which you can easily read what you should use when the time has come.

Oil-based, rich creams are for dry skin. Dry skin really needs the moisture but also the oil or fat if you prefer. This very oil kind of traps the moisture inside your skin, which is why you should use oily lotions especially at night. It simply locks the moisture down and this helps your skin to regenerate over the night. If you have extremely dry and flaky skin, try out a thicker and even richer cream.

Oily skin types need water-based lotions. Yes, even oily skin need to be moisturized every day. Pay attention to the consistency of your chosen lotions, it must not be too thick and non-comedogenic as this can clog your pores.

Combination skin types need a combination out of oil-based and water-based lotions. I personally spread an oil-based moisturizer on my cheeks and around my eyes. On my T-zone however, I like to use lighter creams to prevent any more shininess!

Sensitive skin yearns for simplicity and lightness. That means the less ingredients you see on the back, the happier your skin will be. You should really pay attention to the fact that it should not contain alcohol or fragrance and parabens. What should be included is SPF to further protect your skin from the sun. A lot of pharmacies offer creams that were especially created for sensitive skin, just have a cheeky peak and study the market.

That’s it for today and my skin care series. I really hope you were able to pick up a thing or two.

Yours truly,

Lana
