Creating portraits and hair styles @ Living Faces Makeup Artist School Berlin: Becoming a Makeup Artist
Wow, I’ve almost finished my first month at Living Faces. So, let’s sum up our achievements!
We’ve learned and achieved so many things at the Living Faces Make-up Artist Academy over the last two weeks, which I really need to share with you. One point on the agenda is the locations on our schedule that we had to visit ( Mask World with their new Flagship Store at Hackescher Markt, the MAC Store and the Malzfabrik, which belongs to our academy).

The Malzfabrik in Bessemerstraße is a very popular shooting location for photographers and makeup artists. This location, which used to belong to the Schultheiss Brauerei – a beer brewery, is now owned privately and can be booked for photo shootings and events. And I promise, I’ve already started to make up some ideas about how to beautify my models for their next theme shootings. So, stay tuned!

During the last two weeks, we’ve also trained creating hair styles and we’ve improved our drawing skills. First, making curls on our exercise head, then straighten the hair and then making curls with our GHD straightener, followed by touching everything up – that’s what we actually did!

With the help of a basic raster, we also portrayed our makeup trainer Renata.
Soon, it was Friday and the end of our third week. We finished it with the topic “Face Charts”. Those are the templates you can use to create a makeup style. At the same time, they can be used by those who like to copy the style. It’s seems really easy to draw a line with a fine liner or to fill the sheet of paper with a wide brush to create some blush on the cheeks, but reality is different. At first, it can be really hard to just draw freely.
Do you like my results? I was quite impressed by myself and my work.
