Didn’t we all have to cut out paper snowflakes in elementary school? I had to and I hated it. Unlike the Japanese autodidact Akira Nagaya. Because he handles paper like no other. In painstaking detailed work he conjures real masterpieces from monochrome paper by cutting out small pieces to create true masterpieces!

Whether leaves, fine flower constuctions or even a majestic peacock- Mr. Nagaya cuts the piece of paper until there are only fine lines of paper left which depict a beautiful picture. Here, nothing is glued or folded … everything is made out of one single piece of paper.

This art definitely requires immense patience to create those fascinating pieces. Kudos to Mr. Akira Nagaya!
