India – the land of different cultures and traditions is a land of festivals and fairs. Regardless of what corner one is in the country, everywhere there are fairs hosted of cultural or religious nature that connect people. The Bangalore Fashion Week also offers a festive platform, where designers, fashionistas and visitors from all over the world are united in one place.

With over 8.5 million inhabitants, Bangalore is the third largest city in India, following Mumbai and Delhi. Bangalore’s development is marked by western style consumerism with countless shopping centres, restaurants, bars and similar places. The youth of this populous city has in the past proven itself to be very fashionable and technologically aware.

The eleventh BFW event will take place from August 7th to August 10th, 2014 and aims to generate business relationships and to create a dialogue between designers and specialist consumers.  The event that started in 2009 was mainly intended for Indian designers, but has presented itself as the “Bangalore International Fashion Week” for designers worldwide since the rushing success of the BFW’s international section.

The four-day fashion spectacle will be rounded off with numerous press conferences, fashion shows and unforgettable after-show parties.

One of the designers, whose newest collections will be on show on the BFW, bears the name Lalit Dalmia. The autodidactic talent creates fashion for women, which is as elegant as is are gentle in appearance. The son of a businessman, Lalit, discovered his love and passion for fashion when, by the wish of his father, he was asked to help a business for High-End Fashion. Fascinated by the materials and the thrill to create his own designs, he chose to conquer the heart of Haute Couture.
