Today I’ve got the Tattoo Convention for you -taking place for the 24th time in the German capital! Even before entering the impulsive Arena grounds I saw many strained faces and a bunch of big city rockers and visitors who just want to observe. The color black was ubiquitous and popular, not only in terms of clothing. However, the fair of courese clearly focuses on tattoos visible in all sorts of designs.
Both the visitors themselves and the artists showed their decorated bodies with all the exclusive artwork. From small to large, from black to colorful masterpieces can be found at the Tattoo Convention. There’s probably nothing that does not exist. As soon as I walked into the huge event hall the humming of tattoo machines filled the air. The mood was calm and joyful tension surrounded us, probably mainly because many visitors here got a new piece by their favorite tattoo artist engraved beneath their skin.
The wide range of offers doesn’t necessarily make the choice easier, there are almost 300 artists and there is something for everyone. Black & White, Old School or Modern Style; looking into the pained and yet happy faces speaks volumes.
The desire for a new tattoo definitely grows when you look at the many sketchbooks of international artists with them showing their best designs. The appointment schedules are filled quickly and both, the fully tattooed gangsters and the mother wanting to get her child’s name into her skin, get their money’s worth. For me, it was incredibly exciting to see the individual style of various artists because of their uniqueness. The Tattoo Convention is not only a must in terms of tattoos but also in the matters of piercings, tunnels, tattoo machines and clothes there is a great selection. Tattoo fashion, magazines and books accompany the hustle and bustle going on at the wonderful outdoor area.
On two stages the colorful schedule impressed me with both the appearance of the hip-hop duo DVO and the sight of ??erotic models. Graffiti art, a fakir duo and a wild fire show completed the exciting visit on Friday and in the next few days, one highlight chases the other. By the way, there are also many unique visitors making the colorful image of the convention what it is. Here, the crème de la crème from all body modification corners of Berlin meet, the individualists of the big city! Colorful arms, colorful faces, floor-length dreads, shoes with a huge plateaus and fancy clothes are simply part of this extravaganza!
