Every city has to offer at least one museum that presents the most talented artists. But did you know there’s also a museum for bad art? Sounds weird, but I’m not joking. The “Museum of Bad Art” owns even two exhibition rooms. One of them is situated in Brookline, the other one is in Somerville (both in Massachusetts, USA).
According to director Scott Wilson, it’s a museum that exhibits art which is too bad to be ignored. However, it’s not about making fun of the artist, but the aim is to show another perspective of art. Everything began when Scott Wilson pulled out a picture of bulk garbage just because he liked the frame. One of his friends advised him to organize an exhibition with similar bad images. By this time, he has already have over 600 pictures, but only 60-70 are exhibited.
By the way, bad doesn’t mean bad. Not every picture is chosen for the exhibition. It really has to be truly bad art.
