The phenomen of serial killers is nothing new in modern times anymore. Killers have been around us since the existence of human beings. Among us humans, there were always some who enjoyed killing. Records from the Middle Ages show men who supposedly made a pact with the devil and offered sacrifices to gain power. Nowadays we know that those kind of people are suffering from metal defects and other illnesses. In the beginning of the 60th American Institutes tried to find out if there are any kind of connections and similarities between all serial killers by working out questioning sheets and tests.

One of those questions:

One of two twin sisters is dying. The one who survived attended the funeral and saw a man. She never met him before and each and every one of the attendees never met him too. The funeral ended and the man disappeared. The sister who survived killed her mother several weeks later. Why?

Now, do you know the answer? With those kinds of questions you’ll be able to determine the thinking process of offenders who mostly have a different point of view and a different kind of thinking than ordinary people do. Self-centeredness, lack of humanity, lack of emotional control and maturity, explosive aggressiveness, low tolerance of frustration and lack of any rational control and also autistic features can be part of their personality. Most of them think that their wrong-doing is totally fine and even great.

There are two kinds of murderers and killers: there are those who act in a targeted way and those who act impulsively. Those who act purposely are more dangerous due to their tremendous intelligence and lack of compassion. The ones who act out of emotions will suffer with great remorse after their actions, while the other ones had a specific purpose for their wrong-doing

A categorization of those who act purposely led to the following results (in the United States):

<70% have a religious background with strong conservative values
<70% have been sexually, physically or mentally abused by family members or relatives
<70% have tortured pets and other animals at an early age
<65% are fascinated by fire and pyrotechnics
<60% are interested in fetishes just like voyeurism, sadism, bondage etc. starting at a young age
<60% were bed wetters until the age of 12 or older
<50% have tried to commit suicide at least once
<50% have a intelligence quotient higher than average
<50% have relatives who committed crimes before
<50% are white, male and single
<50% have relatives who suffer from psychological or physical illnesses
<50% have relatives who are addicted to alcohol or drugs

In addition to that, there are also mental diseases such as schizophrenia, disorganized schizophrenia, borderline, social phobia, misogyny and more. Most of the victims are female. Culprits who act impulsively are mostly not as intelligent and do not play the game of cat-and-mouse with the police even though they have the same background as the ones who act purposely. They are mostly not as fascinated by their wrong-doings and do not have a target group of victims.

And by the way, if you still don’t know the answer to the question: The “correct” response, according to most serial killers is the following: That girl killed her mother just to have another opportunity to meet that mysterious man at another funeral. This maybe gives you an insight into what’s going on in the heads of morbid killers.
