The award-winning fashion photographer Viviane Sassen is undoubtedly one of the most interesting people in her field. Her style is varsatile and free. The Dutch artist uses aspects of minimalism and surrealism provoking with an intimate atmosphere and strong emotions.
About 300 pieces chosen from Sassen’s work from the past 18 years will be displayed in the exhibition “In and out of fashion“. These come from magazines such as “Dazed and Confused“. It’s striking how different her works are compared to today’s commercial fashion photography. Sassen’s style is spontaneous and unique, the freedom of her work often surpasses the genre of fashion photography.
The different means the Dutch works with are particularly interesting. She uses a lot of natural elements. Thus, reflections, sun light and shadows influence her art. In addition, she plays with shapes and colors and tests different textures resulting in fantastic images.
