Hyper realistic drawings are nothing new, I have to admit. But they always succeed in fascinating me due to the richness of details incorporated into them. Well, Ivan Hoo is another artist in this field who managed to simply take my breath away because he doesn’t paint on paper. No, he makes use of wood for his paintings.

He paints extremely realistic illustrations on wooden bars and sheets which appear as if coffee has been poured on them, followed by being wrapped in cling wrap. Sometimes a little cute cat is looking at you through a hole in the garden fence, other times it’s a beautiful portray drawing you under its spell.

On the instagram account of the Singaporean artist you can see that he only makes use of simple crayons for his masterpieces – amazing
