Upon getting to know each other in Amsterdam, Charles Borg and Ron van Maarschalkerweerd founded the label Charles & Ron together, followed by Ron moving to Malta. Then, the two named their label after the Dutch queen Beatrix.

Today, the brand bears the name Charles & Ron  and can indeed enjoy many successes. The two founders surprisingly didn’t have much experience in the field of fashion. While Charles learned tailoring thanks to his relatives, Ron studied economy and human resource management.

And yet, they managed to establish themselves on the Maltese fashion market, today being one of the most successful brands in Malta. Each season they present a new collection during the most important fashion event of the insular state. On the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Malta, which started on May 29, Charles & Ron show a new collection for the fall & winter season 2014/2015.

The line for the spring and summer 2014 convinces with beautiful prom and cocktail dresses which are indeed characterized by Malta’s culture and traditions. Apart from traditional symbols which are printed on the designs, embroidered and even perforated, the label also places value on modern silhouettes. Sometimes, the robes are shaped like an A and therefore are defined by a loose cut. Other times they are figure-hugging, while other dresses consist of draperies.

Charles & Ron definitely is able to satisfy any taste, having something in store for all figures. Joyful colors, gold and shiny fabrics complete the collection.
