Kelly Davies and Scott Davies are, as the name probably already suggests, siblings. Scott and Maya Clemmensen are a couple and Kelly and Maya are best friends. All these individuals represent the designer team pulling the strings behind the label Maurie & Eve.

The label was named after the grandparents of Kelly and Scott who unfortunately died of a tragic car accident. Maurice and Evelyn Williams however will always stay in the hearts of Kelly and Scott. Furthermore, it was Evelyn who bequeathed Kelly a sewing machine – her first inspiration.

Initially Kelly sewed clothing for her friends and relatives. But then, fashion became her profession. Today, she is selling her clothes in Australia and the entire world, supported by Scott and Maya. With the latest collection for fall 2014, the label offers elegant, sexy, nonchalant and athletic-looking fashion, everything your heart craves for.

Thanks to the fact that the label is run by three different designers, the end produced is almost flawless. One style which caught our attention is the one made of an oversized jeans jacket and baggie jeans. Said outfit totally contrasts with the figure-hugging, black dress with cut-outs, which are placed diagonally above the chest. Yet, both ensembles seem to be marked by classiness just like the outfit consisting of a skirt and longsleeve which are both characterized by transparent parts.

Maurie & Eve present themselves as a very multi-faceted label. Sometimes, the outfits can barely be more feminine and elegant, other times it highlights its nonchalant and relaxed side. Well, let’s see how they present themselves at the next Sydney Fashion Weekend.
