The brand Jonathan Simkhai which was founded in New York in the year 2010 is named after the eponymous designer. After his studies at the Parsons School, Jonathan Jimkhai started to implement his visions of a fashionable, cosmopolitan woman. His spring collection 2014 is very versatile and includes dresses, pants and blouses for the warmer days in the year. Here, the designer works with patchwork elements and many cut-outs so that the feminine line is given a casual side and sophisticated accentuations.
If we take a look at the color palette, we can see the colors blue, grey and white dominate the color concept. They interact with each other as a patchwork and harmonize beautifully or come to their own as a filigree allover print. One of my favorite aspects is the selection of dresses with cut-outs. I particularly fell in love with the blue, longsleeved dress with a cutout around the waist. Thanks to the sophisticated perforations the dress truly becomes an eye catcher.
Apart from these stylistic devices, the many ensembles of several pieces of clothing look magnificent. What struck my eye was a combination of white pants and a white blouse which appears classy as well as wild with the help of the black biker vest.
Jonathan Simkhai knows how to make different contrasting styles become one, unifying classy, athletic and rocking elements perfectly.
