Victor Demarchelier is a true blue New Yorker. He was born and raised there, and has always been surrounded by the fashion industry. This led to his early fascination of photography and aesthetics in general.
He studied economy and free art, and specialized in print design. Shortly afterwards, he started to work for the famous photographer Patrick Demarchelier. His works have also been featured in several magazines. To this day, he’s regularly featured in the Harper’s Bazaar or Vogue in different countries, in the Interview, Muse and Vanity Fair; just to mention a few of them.
His photos often show very private settings, not only when the models appear topless or naked. He succeeds in creating a communication base between the models and the viewers with his pictures. Since he’s an expert in visual arts, he can also let an onion look as erotic as the naked model on the picture.
Victor Demarchelier has become a successful business man, who’s often mentioned in popular magazines. Black and white photography is one of his strengths where he can perfectly manage the contrast between light and shadow.
