I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees!

Brutal, fast, aesthetic and well – kind of silly. Those are the first words I had when I was trying to describe “300 – Rise of an Empire”. The ones of you who already saw the first part, I can tell you that nothing much has changed. Again there are half-naked Greeks who went down in fitness history , I guess Leni Riefenstahl would’ve had her fun filming this movie. Again there’s muscles and steel used to shed buckets of blood. Looking at the dialogues, I’d say there is just as much valuable and educating content as there is in a Benjamin the Elephant audiobook…but what can I say, it’s awesome

There’s nothing more you would want from an action movie! We want fighting scenes with goose bumps inducing choreographies that get us all excited. What else do we need? Bad and evil, black and white? Right! See, it’s not that complicated. There aren’t any unnecessary prologues, no time-wasting, the movie starts full of action and ends full of action. And this is exactly what I want to see when I’m watching an action movie.

Some reviewers may say the movie isn’t historically correct and some even say that it’s racist, they even imply the movie glorifies militarism or portrays the middle east as the enemy..However, I think it’s just a movie that needed some kind of excuse to show us all the muscles, the steel and the action. And in this case, they decided to choose an antique setting.

I for one think the movie was really entertaining and it’s totally worth watching. If you love action, watch the movie..after that you can read a history book and see what really happened if you’re that concerned.
