Ben Mori received his training among others in Rhode Island, but now he is very popular in the Asian domain. Actually, he should be celebrated on all streets, because his contribution to the fashion, the art and to the design is really almost pioneering. His work focuses on the hip hop and the skaters. Thus, he creates skateboards… at least he offers the motifs for the bottom part, which are colorful and also kind of aggressive.
The motifs often reflect themselves in his art, where you can find the same pharaoh masks, samurai or skulls. His interpretations of the saints which are represented as skulls, are also very popular. With his painting technique he creates little dots which form the whole picture.
His last contribution to the fashion is years ago. His last collection was made for the winter 2012. There, he worked with the dedication to the typical, Nordic patterns which can be found on sweaters. In his case, the designs didn’t illustrate by reindeers, but by skeletons of polar bears. With his art, fashion and design Ben Mori always makes a statement concerning the religions and the environment. Well, sometimes the designs just look good. His streets style adds a cool character to the whole collection.
