On February 3rd this lovely band from Switzerland played in a little cafe in Leipzig. The band consists of three people: Caro is responsible for the banjo and the backing vocals, Jessica is alternately playing the Guitar and the banjo, she also does the main vocals. And a very quiet young man plays the paddle steel (which is a very common plucked instrument for country music).
On their internet page the band describes their genre as belonging to folk/country music. At this I probably should say that the melancholy in the songs and particularly the rough vocals remind me of the 60s.
Anaheim will be on stage on the Tiefgrund in Berlin on February 6th.
All in all Anaheim are a very very worth to see new comer band which gives us a wonderful melancholic comeback of country music.
