a day to remember

On January 31st this American pop punk band A Day to Remember was on stage in the Haus Auensee in Leipzig.

The interior of this location really reminded me of Huxley’s Neue Welt in Berlin. A Day To Remember got supported on stage by the bands Every Time I Die and The Story So Far. Both of them are American bands form the pop punk scene as well.

I think it’s a pity though that people didn’t lay out about mixing the sound for the supportive bands. I stood quite in the middle of the audience and didn’t really hear anything clearly. All in all this was a rather uncomfortable concert. The location was huge. But nevertheless way too many people were present. It was simply overcrowded. Also I had the feeling that  I was far away from the average age of the audience. Seriously, I didn’t fail to notice the crowd of parents taking care of their kids. Not Joking. The audience consisted at least 93% of 16-year-old emo kids. What a shame, because A Day To Remember were the band that introduced me to the hardcore scene.

Well, eventually there was a huge plus about that concert: On the one hand there was a great light show and on the other hand two of my very favorite acoustic songs were played which have a big emotional value for me.  So in the end the concert was kind of worth attending… well at least a bit. But I still have to say the price of 35€ per ticket was definitely too expensive.
