Single strings are wrapped around the body; they either come together and cross paths or move apart. This sounds interesting and it also is! In Zaida Balmaseda’s collection you will find many of these looks. A brown piece of mesh scarcely covers the body of a woman; the seam of another knitted sweater is divided into thin strands so that a lot of skin can be seen.
Zaida plays with the fabrics and uses them in every texture. Wool, for example, is shown in its original shape as well as in the finished option. The knitted top with its colorful shades still lets its single strands be visible. The collection is inspired by nature. It shows the natural decay of everything living into its single pieces.
Each model is handmade; even the natural fabrics are dyed by hand. This emphasizes the aim of the young designer, who graduated successfully in 2011. She wants to bring nature and her clients together. Zaida is already known worldwide. Her collections are shown at fashion shows in France as well as in the Netherlands.
