He wasn’t one of those men, who look as if they would belong on the big cinema screens. He didn’t have what you call an athletic body or a pretty face and yet Philipp Seymour Hoffman was one of the big boys in Hollywood because he could act like no one else. In his lifetime he performed a series of great roles but nothing compares to his performance in “Capote”. Hoffman manages to play out the excessive character of Truman Capote including his renowned voice in a way that it borders on sheer perfection.
In tribute to his way too early death, ProSieben MAXX decided to air the mentioned movie on February 9th at 8:15pm., with which Hoffman earned himself an OSCAR® as “Best Leading Actor”.
