Lako Bukia recently graduated in her second studies in fashion design. She graduated in London, where she also lives and works. Her dramatic thumbprint doesn’t only impress me at first sight. After having launched her collections at the Fashion Weeks in Kiev and London, she also got the chance to go to the Shanghai Fashion Week!

China – that’s the name of the collection which I’m going to talk about. The designer makes use of the traditional Chinese cuts and combines them with modern elements. Thus, an urban look with clear structures is created. Straight lines form the feminine and innocent look.

Lako Bukia shows her version of the modern China, presenting short-sleeved blouses with collars and dresses whose shoulder parts are covered with an extra piece of fabric. Also the colors or prints match the topic. Beside deep black, the designer also works with shiny white and vibrant red. The motif of a shrub or a branchwood with the red blossoms can be found in the whole collection.

Drama, architecture, modernism, classicism – there are many more influences which effect the style of Lako Bukia. The mix of all these influences and her amazing talent promise to show us more of her outstanding collections!
