The young designer studied at FIT and just recently got her bachelor of evening gowns. Today Helen Castillo works in New York and lives out her speciality for techniques of couture. She was taken into a group of young designers by ELLE where was also able to present her designs at the New York Fashion Week.

Helen Castillo not only concentrates on her love for high quality processing methods, but also for the nature. She knows how to manipulate fabrics into a natural shape of an object. With these three dimensional elements movements are created despite the standstill. Her collection bears the title “Sensation D’Obscurité” which also means “The Sensation of Darkness”.

Accordingly most of the designs are black and mostly dark. Nevertheless you can sometimes find some white elements as a contrast. Silk is one of the most used fabric in this collection. It transforms into a loosed white feather dress or just a long one with bristly feathers.

With this collection the young designer competes with the nature. She copied the textures of nature which can only be found in the nature so that you can be able the wear the nature on your skin.
