“Black is the only color you need…” oder “Schwarz ist die einzige Farbe, die du brauchst”.
Song for the mute ist ein Kollektiv aus den kreativen Künstlern Melvin Tanaya aus Paris und Lyna Ty, die das Designerhandwerk in Italien erlernt hat. Ihr Ziel war es, eine sinfonische Dichtung aus Erwartungen und Träumen aufs Papier und auf die Haut zu bringen. Und das scheint die Kollektion auch zu sein, eine Mischung aus Traum und Verlangen, der sich um die Haut legt und die Männer von heute kleidet.
In großzügigen und weiten Formen umfließt der Stoff den Körper. Schicht um Schicht entsteht so ein vollständiges Outfit. Es gibt keine klar begrenzten Formen und Schnitte und das Ganze verschwimmt zu einem Bild, welches sich nicht klar definieren lässt. So z.B. ist nicht eindeutig zu sagen, ob es sich um ein Jackett oder einen Sweater handelt: Es ist etwas Eigenes und Neues. So auch die Hosen, sie wirken zum einen sehr weit geschnitten am Bund, doch dann betonen sie wiederum die Beine.
Ein besonders schönes Beispiel ist eine Winterjacke, welche abgesteppt ist, ähnlich der Uniformjacken des hohen Nordens vergangener Tage: doch wirkt sie moderner. Das liegt nicht nur an ihrem hohen Kragen, der das halbe Gesicht verdeckt und das Antlitz verschlingt. Der Stoff umschmeichelt in einer vollkommen neuen Art und Weise den Körper und das alles in dunklem Schwarz, minimal und elegant.

“Black is the only color you need.”
Song for the mute is a label run by the creative artists Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty from Paris who learned the art of designing and taloring in Italy. Their goal is to project their symphonic compositions made of expectations and dreams onto paper to turn them into clothing. This is exactly what the collection radiates, it seems to be a mixture of dream and desire, which softly coats the ideal of the modern man.
In generously and widely cut shapes and cuts, the fabric wraps itself around the body. Layer after layer, a complete outfit results from this entire concept. There are no clearly marked out shapes. Instead everything seems to become one, one entity, which is not clearly defined. This is something completely new. Thus, one cannot clearly tell whether the piece of clothing the mannequin is wearing is a jacket or a sweater. The same applies to the pants. They are widely cut around the waistband and tight-fitting around the legs.
A particularly beautiful example is a stitched winter jacket, which resembles uniform jackets worn long ago. But this exemplar looks much more modern. This is probably caused by the high collar, which covers half of the face. The fabric flatters the body in a completely new way, colored in black. This is minimalistic and elegant fashion – simply beautiful.
