Mettle – Fair Trade ist dem genialen Kopf von einem aus Melbourne stammenden Fashion Designer entsprungen. Das gesamte Werk schmückt sich mit dem Image, dass es fair gehandelt, limitiert und handgemacht ist.
Die gesamten Kollektionen werden in Kambodscha und Indonesien im kleinen Kreis hergestellt. Ihr Ziel war und ist es, die schmale Lücke zwischen Design und dem fairen Handel zu füllen.? Die zwei wohl distinktivsten Kollektionen bisher waren Fifth Element und die neueste, Making Moves.
The Fifth Element zieht seine Wurzeln aus dem gleichnamigen Film aus dem Jahre 1997. Es bedient sich an Themen rund um das Überleben des Menschens im Wandel der Zeit, von der Evolution der Vergangenheit bis hin zum technologischen Wandel der Zukunft.
Making Moves schlägt eine komplett andere Richtung ein. Die Kollektion ist der unabhängigen, starken und immer währenden Frau gewidmet und das zeigt sich auch in den Elementen der Accessoires. Sie ist an die modebewusste und doch praktisch denkende Frau gerichtet, die sowohl auf Design, als auch auf Tragbarkeit im Alltag achtet.

Mettle – Fair Trade is the brain bank of a Melbourne based fashion designer. Its image is distinctive and simple: fair trade accredited, limited edition and handcrafted. The whole collection is produced by a small circle in Cambodia and Indonesia. The aim was and still is to close the gap between design and fair trade. The 2 most worth mentioning collections are Fifth Element and the latest instalment: Making Moves.
The Fifth Element is inspired by the eponymous movie from 1977. It combines topics like the survival of the human kind and the development and evolution of mankind in the past up until the technological and science of the future.
Making Moves is dedicated to the strong and independent woman. The fashionable yet logically thinking woman is on the lookout for design but also for wearability and that is exactly what the label is aiming for.
