Mit ihrer Abschlusskollektion DISHARMONIE hat Paula Kuhn gleichzeitig ein Designer-Debüt hingelegt, das eigentlich gar nicht so unharmonisch erscheint. Sicherlich waren die zusammengesetzten Dreiecke und Quadrate, flächendeckend gefüllt mit einem kaleidoskopähnlichen Muster, ausschlaggebend für diesen Namen.
Gleichzeitig entsteht durch die geordnete, geometrische Welt ein spannender Kontrast zu dem wilden, fließenden Muster. Zwei Dreiecke werden dabei immer wieder und wieder zu einem Quadrat zusammengefügt und reihen sich so an- und untereinander.
Paula Kuhns Stil lässt sich als modern, minimalistisch und stilsicher beschreiben. Sie setzt auf die zwei Nichtfarben Schwarz und Weiß, wodurch es ihr Stilempfinden zulässt, an anderer Stelle mit etwas Farbe und künstlerischem Design Akzente zu setzen. Eigentlich ein perfekter Ausgleich, die perfekte Harmonie.
Mit der Hauptfarbe ihrer Kollektion, mit Blau in verschiedenen Nuancen, wagt sie einen Sprung ins Wilde, Künstlerische. Eine straighte Blazer-Rock/Shorts-Kombination erinnert stark an den Kubismus. Dagegen hat eine bauchige Maxikleid-Jacken-Kombi ein Allover-Muster auf dem Kleid, das vom Pointilismus inspiriert scheint. Die moderne Komponente daran? Unser Pointilismus heute sind die Pixel auf Fernsehleinwänden. Von Weitem leuchtet das Kleid blau-rosa knallig gestreift und von Nahem sehen wir die einzelnen Dots.
Neben diesen zwei Stilmitteln flackert noch ein drittes auf. Ein moiré-ähnliches Muster, das die meisten sicherlich noch von einem verwackelten, fehlerhaften Sendesignal eines alten Fernsehers kennen…deswegen vielleicht DISHARMONIE? Die Schnitte der Jacken verschmelzen dafür fast unsichtbar mit dem Rest des Ensembles, ein Punkt, der das Design von Paula Kuhn klar von der Konkurrenz abhebt. http://kombinatkollektionen.de/

With her final collection DISHARMONIE Paula Kuhn has definitely succeeded to build the fundament of her coming career in the fashion world. Although the title of her collection suggests otherwise, her designs were actually pretty harmonic. Certainly however, the fact that triangles and squares, filled with patterns reminding of caledoscopes, were put together did contribute to the title.
At the same time, an exciting contrast is created to the wild, chaotic patterns thanks to the coordinated and orderly world of geometry. Two triangles are here and there put together, forming a square. These squares made of triangles then again form an entire ordered pattern.
Paula Kuhn’s style can be described as modern, minimalistic and very deliberate. She counts on the two non-colors black and white in the first place. However, Paula Kuhn does place colorful and artistic highlights in the ocean of black and white here and there according to her feel. This actually is a wonderful contrast to the DISHARMONIE because this is true harmony.
With another main color of the collection blue which is available in different nuances, Paula dares to dives into the wild and artistic world. A straight blazer-and-skirt combination or a blazer-and-shorts combination really reminds of Cubism on the one hand. On the other hand, there is a jacket-maxi dress combination which seems to be inspired by Pointillism. The modern element is? Our form of Pointillism nowadays seems to be the pixels on the TV display. From a distance, the dress seems to be striped in blue and rose. If you take a closer look, you can see single dots.
Apart from these stylistic devices, another one caught our attention. A moiré-like pattern, which many probably have seen in the form of wiggly and buggy TV display due to a poor reception, can be found here and there. But can you really call this collection disharmonic? The cuts of the jackets go wonderfully well with the rest of the ensembles, the cuts are discreet so that the colors and the patterns are in the foreground.
