Fashion designer Dries Van Noten inherited his tailor handwork. Thanks to his parents, he grew up with the fashion and soon was able to find his passion for fashion design. Dries Van Noten decided to study his passion and make his dream of his own collection true. In 1986 his greatest dream finally became reality, he proudly debuted with his very first own collection. The sale started in a little boutique in Antwerp, today the designer’s astonishing collections can be found on catwalks all around the world.
The designers are elegant and very exciting with a mix of feminine and boyish cuts. The brilliant details make each garment the designer creates unique. Most of the pieces cover a big part of the wearer’s body, which makes the look seem very traditional. In each collection you can find a lot of combinations. The range of cloth used reaches from silk to cord, however the cuts also surprise us with each garment anew. Skirts often have a straight cut and are covering the knees; each skirt looks unique because of the varying drapes and layers. Dark garments are made more interesting with colorful details. Fringes and sewed on flowers catch everyone’s eye. For each garment the designer comes up with many details and great eye catchers.
For Summer 2014 there are trousers and flowing skirts made of light cloth, which are all graced by awesome patterns. The patterned pieces can be combined with a plain black blouse for example. This makes the outfit smart, but still lets the wearer look casual. In the collection there are also all kinds of colors you could ever imagine and yet every piece is presented in an effective color combination. Floral patterns grace the skirts and the wonderful coats.
