Kunstvolle Materialien, verschmolzen zu wunderschönem Schmuck – das kann man in any new yorks Kreationen erkennen. Naoyo Terada ist diejenige, die dies möglich macht. Die Designerin, die schon immer eine Leidenschaft für die Kunst hegte, studierte am „Fashion Institute of Technology New York“. Dort entdeckte sie ihr Interesse am Schmuckherstellen. Danach machte sie ein Praktikum bei Jeff Cooper, einer führenden Hochzeits-Schmuck Firma. Was ihr jedoch letztendlich den Mut dazu gab, eine eigene Marke zu gründen, war ihr Sieg bei der „Women’s Jewelry Association Diva Design Competition“. Ihr Ziel ist es, ihre Inspirationen aus ihrer Umgebung, der Natur, dem Organischen in ihrem städtischen Lebensstil, den sie im lauten und vollen New York City führt, zu verwischen. Jedes einzelne Stück wird mit viel Liebe und Aufmerksamkeit zum Detail hergestellt. Der Schmelzungsprozess der Materialien, den sie nutzt, kann man zum Beispiel in ihrer „Lava Stream“ oder „Climbing Vine“ Kollektion erkennen. Ketten und Ringe der Lava Stream Kollektion wirken, als ob deren zur Herstellung genutztes Gold und Silber in feine Fäden dahin schmelzen. Auch für die Climbing Vine Kollektion wurden die Metalle oxidiert und Saphire oder Rohdiamanten hinzugefügt.

Artfully melted materials to beautiful jewellery – this can be seen in ‘any new york’ creations. Naoyo Terada is the one who makes this possible. The designer who has always been passionate for art, studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology New York. There she found out about her interest in jewellery making. After that, she interned at Jeff Cooper, a leading bridal jewellery company. What finally gave her the confidence to launch her own brand was her victory at the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Diva Design Competition. Her objective is to blur her inspiration she gets from her surroundings, the nature, the organic into her urban lifestyle she has while living in loud and crowded New York City. Every single piece is created with a lot of love and attention to details.
The melting process of the materials she uses can be found for example in her ‘Lava Stream’ or ‘Climbing Vine’ collection. Necklaces and Rings of the Lava Stream Collection appear as if the gold/silver used, melt into fine, elegant looking fibres. Also for the Climbing Vine Collection metals are oxidized and precious sapphire or raw diamonds are added.
