Nina Berenatos Schmuckkollektion „Psyche“ hat während des letzten Jahres viel Aufmerksamkeit auf sich gezogen. Im September 2012 beendete die ehemalige Stylistin ihr erstes Schmuckstück, das „Full Leo Necklace“, welches sie ein ganzes Jahr Arbeit kostete, und launchte „Psyche Jewelry“. Ihre Kreationen haben aufgrund ihrer sauberen und schlichten Linien viel Interesse erregt. Die Inspiration nahm sich die Designerin von der griechischen Mythologie, dem Übernatürlichen und dem Universum. Das Ergebnis war ihre erste Kollektion namens „Cosmic“. http://www.psyche-jewelry.com
Für die Produktion der Schmuckstücke nutzt Berenato recycelte Metalle und ethisch bezogene Steine. Bis heute fertigt sie alle Stücke selbst per Hand an, da sie ihre Arbeit als eine sehr persönliche Leidenschaft ansieht. All ihre Fertigkeiten erhielt sie durch Elizabeth Knight, eine Schmuckhändlerin aus New York City. Berenato hat sie über längere Zeit unterstützt und zusammen mit ihr in ihrem Studio gearbeitet, wo sie viele Techniken und viel Wissen über die Schmuckherstellung oder Behandlung von verschiedenen Metallen gewann.
„Cosmic Collection“ beinhaltet auffällige Armreifen mit geometrischen Formen. Ketten mit Medaillons bilden das passende Pendant zu Ohrringen mit Pyramiden-Formen und Ninas Statement Stück, die bereits genannte „Leo Necklace“, die aus mehreren Godplättchen zusammengefügt zu einem Ganzen und bestanzt mit der Sternenkonstellation des Löwen, hergestellt wurde. Wie der Name bereits andeutet, ist Psyche eine geheimnisvolle, trotzige, symbolische Linie, die antike Mythologien und feminine Stärke in einfachen, jedoch auffälligen Schmuckstücken, vereint. Leider sind Fachhändler derzeit nur in den USA und Kanada anzutreffen, aber hoffentlich wird Nina Berenatos Linie noch weltweit erweitert.

Nina Berenato’s jewellery collection “Psyche” has been arousing a lot of attention during the last year. In September 2012 the former stylist finished her first piece of jewellery, the ‘Full Leo Necklace’, which had been taking her a whole year of work, and launched Psyche Jewelry. Her creations have been gaining a lot of interest because of their interesting clean and plain lines. The inspiration came from the Greek mythology, the supernatural and universe. For the production, Berenato uses recycled metals and ethically sources stones. By now, she makes all pieces by hand and by herself since the designer sees her work as a very personal passion. All of her skills she got from Elizabeth Knight, a fellow jeweller in New York City. Berenato has worked and supported her for a long time in her studio where learned many techniques and a lot of knowledge about jewellery making or the treatment of different metals.
‘Cosmic Collection’ comprises bold cuffs with geometric shapes, medallion pendant necklaces or earrings including pyramids forms and Nina’s statement piece, the already named ‘Leo necklace’ which is made of several gold plates connected to one piece and studded with the constellation of the Leo. As the name already shows, Psyche is a mysterious, defiant, symbolic line that captures ancient mythology and feminine strength in simple but bold pieces. Unfortunately, for now, stockists are only based in the US and Canada but hopefully, Nina Berenato’s line will expand to the rest of the world. Picture
