Paper London ist ein, 2011 von Philippa Thackeray und Designerin Kelly Townsend, gegründetes Modelabel, das auf luxuriöse Bekleidung für Frauen spezialisiert ist. Leuchtende Farbkomplexe, Colourblocking hoch zwei und grafische Formen und Muster sind nicht zu übersehen. Es wird unter anderem viel hochwertige Seide oder auch Lackleder genutzt. Die Looks sind voluminös und erfrischend frech.
In der vergangenen Sommerkollektion 2013 spielte das Label viel mit futuristischen Zügen und knalligen Pink- und Gelbtönen. Natürlich darf man nicht die vielen Grafikmuster vergessen, die den Outfits noch einen Extra-Knall geschenkt haben.
Bei der Winterkollektion in diesem Jahr, führen uns die Kreationen nicht in die Vergangenheit, aber ein Tick Zurückhaltung (wenn auch nicht viel) in Sachen Farbbomben wurde schon unternommen. Es kommt mehr Schwarz und Blau hinzu, was jetzt weniger lollipop-mäßig sondern eher cool, kühn und edgy wirkt.
Besonderen Wert hat das Label nun auch auf Glanz gelegt, wie in dem doch sehr auffälligen, blauen Lack-Trenchcoat der Kollektion zu sehen. Grün-, Blau- und Gelbtöne werden in großflächigen Mustern vereint und viel Volumen gibt es für die Mäntel und Capes. Am auffälligsten ist aber das schwarze „Tijana“-Kleid, in welchem man einer niedlichen, riesigen Glocke gleicht und das mit Volumen ganz und gar nicht geizt.
Auch wenn Paper London noch relativ neu in der Modebranche ist, hat das Label bereits so einige prominente Fans gewonnen. So wurden bereits Pippa Middleton oder Lily Collins in Paper London Looks entdeckt.

Bright colour complexes, colour blocking extreme and graphic forms and prints can’t be overlooked. The designer uses especially a lot of high quality silk and also patent leather. The looks are very bulky and refreshingly bold.
In the past summer collection 2013 the label played with a lot of futuristic structures and jazzy pink and yellow nuances. Needless to say, one mustn’t forget all the graphic designs that give an extra pop to the outfits.
The creations of the recent winter collections don’t lead us to the past at all, but instead there’s some kind of restraint concerning the colour bombs (even though not much). Now, we have more black and blue, which look more cool, keen and edgy and less lollipop-like. The label puts especially emphasis on shininess which you can find with the very notable blue patent leather trench coat in this collection. Green, blue and yellow colours are unified on large patterns, plus there’s a lot of volume for the coats and capes. The most striking piece must be the ‘Tijana’ dress, in which you could resemble a really big and cute bell and which isn’t stingy with volume.
Although Paper London is a young brand in the fashion world, it has already gained famous fans. That’s how celebrities such as Pippa Middleton or Lily Collins were already discovered in Paper London looks.
