“Clara studied law to please papa and I’m studying medicine … but from the perspective of the sick patient!”
Directed by Fabienne Berthaud
Starring Diane Krüger and Ludivine Sagnier
After the death of their mother, the two sisters Clara and Lily try to become close again. This is why Clara who is married to a lawyer decided to move back to the countryside where she comes from. There, the house where the two sisters spent their childhood is only kept alive by Lily who is displaying behavior problems that indicate autism. Nevertheless, Lily is cheerful, lively and therefore the opposite of her sister. Although the sisters couldn’t be more different, they slowly feel more and more connected upon moving together. Side by side, they learn what it means to live and they learn to love and live life to the fullest.
Sometimes Lily is a fantastic, typically French movie that pays homage to the intensity and sensuality of life. It convinces with feel-good moments and pure emotions. If you loved Amélie or Blue is the warmest color, then you will surely fall in love with this emotional movie as well.
