World War II was by far the most devastating disaster in human history that caused 80 million deaths including with the victims who lost their lives by the subsequent war crimes and consequences of war.
When Germany surrendered in 1945 and Adolf Hitler took his own life from cowardice and pride, the Allies celebrated a world-shaking victory with particularly the United States standing out as the winner and new superpower.
Yet many will probably always wonder what would have happened if the biggest war had ended differently? What if Germany had won?
Author Philip K. Dick, who depicts the reign of terror of the Germans and Japanese in the United States 20 years after the defeat of the Allies in an impressive way in his award-winning novel “The Man in the High Castle“, deals with exactly this scenario.
Based on the novel, Amazon launched a critically acclaimed Amazon Original Series for its Amazon Video service, produced by none other than Ridley Scott, who attracted millions of movie enthusiasts to the cinemas as a director for movies such as Alien, Blade Runner and The Gladiator.
This series promises action, fascinating insights into a horror scenario which ultimately never occurred, emotions and exciting series nights at home thanks to video-on-demand which brought Amazon great success since having launched Amazon Video in February 2014.
