The heavy rainfalls turn the streets of the tourist metropolis of Cancun into small rivers. Water levels of 20-40 cm in height paralyze traffic. Cars are stuck in the water. The inhabitants take it very easy, pedestrians just pull their shoes out and cross the floods with pleasure. In some cases cyclists disappear as far as the knees in the water, as a pedestrian one must be careful not to be caught by a small monster wave and washed away.
Driving in Cancun is now a special experience.
