New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2017 – Anna Sui

Before the American woman Anna Sui with Chinese roots became self-employed in 1980, she graduated from the Parsons School of Design and worked in the sportswear industry as well as stylist for Steven Meisel. In 1991 she had her first fashion show, followed in 1992 by the opening of her first boutique in Soho. There were further boutique openings in Tokyo and Los Angeles.

Sui’s fashion is inspired by different cultures. So you can see elements of the punk, the hippie scene and also the traditional Chinese clothes. In general, their collections are very colorful and freckled. Prints play a particularly important role here. Always prominent models such as Gigi Hadid on her catwalk, give the designer much attention in the fashion industry.
