3. The auctioneer Christie’s in London auctioned a 3 liters double magnum Château Mouton- Rothschild 1945, whose content is equivalent to that of 4 regular bottles. In 1997, the bottle achieved an unbelievable price of 114,614 US dollars.
2. At the same auction, another wine was sold for an even higher price. One of the most expensive single bottles is a Château Lafite from 1787. In 1985, somebody offered 160,000 US dollars for this one bottle. Although a bottle of Screaming Eagle 1992 normally costs about 300 US dollars, the wine was sold for an incredible sum of 500,000 US dollars.
