I think we can all agree on the fact that you can make almost every pair of jeans work if you have a firm behind as a foundation to work with. One of the great mysteries on this planet is how to best build up our glutes as quickly as possible. And I say: Go old school! And that means essentially: deadlifts, squats and lunges. It seems so basic and yet those are the three exercises that allow you to continuously build up the muscle tissue that will give your butt a nice shape.

If you are a beginner, try squats on the multi-press machine. It may look daunting at first but it will hold the weights in place whilst you can concentrate on your movement. You can also do your lunges on the multi-press machine.

Round things off with a good stretch. Many people neglect this but you need to be flexible in order to be able to use the full range of motion during your squats, lunges and deadlifts.

On a side note, for those who fear weights: Weight training will not give you a wider butt, as muscles do not grow sideways. If you feel like your behind is too wide, it’s maybe due to overlaid body fat, which can only be eliminated with cardio, the right diet and a fast metabolism, which can be achieved by building up muscles. You see: it is easy and all logical. The truly hard part is actually going to the gym and doing it!
