Most Russian women are portrayed as very sexy way because they wear a lot of makeup, have their nails done and are always dressed in a very reveiling way. But this stereotype is of course not something that represents all women in Russia and is proven wrong in many cases.
What is generally said about Russian women is that their appearance is very important to them. In Moscow for example, 70% of the people you see on the streets are well dressed and styled. Russian women only leave the house looking their best. Extravagant nail design with lots of rhinestones and especially eyelash extentions belong to the beauty routine of many Russian women.
Nevertheless, as I said, stereotypes are often proven wrong. To many Slavic beauties, naturalness is priority. A feminine appearance is especially important to these women, which is why tailored and figure-hugging dresses are preferred. Sex appeal is shown in a different way. Instead of showing a lot of skin and wearing low-cut clothes, the average Russian preferably dresses in a classic feminine style. Clothes should emphasize the figure but in a lot more elegant way.
When it comes to makeup, the standards are similar: Neatness is the way to go. Elegance and naturalness are expressed with a delicate French manicure and a touch of perfume. Rosy cheeks and beautiful long eyelashes are also a must-have, layers of makeup, however, are rather less considered ‚beautiful’.
