One of most sublime examples for ingenuity amongst German artists is Geza Schoen. He is known as the rebel in the fragrance world – for a good reason. Geza Schoen is the brilliant mind behind Escentric Molecules, the very brand that brought us the infamous Molecules 01 Perfume. For those of you who have never heard of it: Molecules 01 is often described as the “anti-fragrance fragrance” as it truly doesn’t smell like anything at first. This is due to the Iso E Super aroma-molecule that does not exist in nature. Its creation is dated back to 1973. You can find it in relatively low concentrations in the background of many fragrances, possibly even in your favourite scent as well. The Molecules 01 Perfume however only consists of the Iso E Super molecule, something unheard of until you tried it. The thing is, you cannot pinpoint the fragrance as it smells different on everybody and it can have a completely different appeal from one person to another. However, it is proven that it certainly attracts the opposite sex as well as the same sex.

I really like the idea of a fragrance that opens unexpected doors for you, as you don’t know whom you will attract with this scent. You could view it as a daily experiment. As perfumer Geza Schoen so accurately remarked: One sniff and you want the whole bottle. It’s like a drug.”
