Unusual, colorful and playful – that’s how I would describe the collections by Ana Ljubinkovic. Her style is lavishly decorated without appearing excessive. Instead her collections ooze playfulness and a joie-de-vivre. I particularly took notice of her F/W 14/15 collection called Army Dreamers and her F/W 13/14 collection Star Children. As part of the Star Children campaign the model was seen in doll-like poses with a golden headpieces clearly mimicking a unicorn. This enchanting getup gave the feminine collection a special touch. Bell shapes and adornments made the collection all the more unusual. Flower tendrils throughout the collection remind me of popular motifs in times of the art nouveau. The Army Dreamers collection also reminds me of a long past era. The unusual organic as well as edgy shape and the stucco ornaments practically scream baroque. The colorful and often shimmery satin fabric with golden details and accessories further enhance this factor. Both collections are beautiful examples for Ana Ljubinkovics talent. I am sure that this time around at Belgrade Fashion Week she will, as per usual, enthrall us with her latest collection.
