Who devoted their life to board games instead of going out to party in the 90ies should know this classic. Hero Quest is a crossing between a role and a board game involving several players which play the role of an archetypical fantasy character like a barbarian or a fairy. During the game you will discover dungeons and beat the evil final boss in the end. The enemy is of course trying to prevent you from doing so by sending monsters to beat you up or setting up traps. The heroes have to fight their way through hordes of evil enemies … in the coolest way possible of course. How you fight will be determined by a dice system. Hmm, reminds me of a retro version of the modern role play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim‘ – except with dices.
In the year 2014, the game celebrated its 25th birthday with a remake. However, Hasbro gave up the ownership of the game to Gamezone. With the help of the Crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, this deluxe edition is being financed.
