While most labels divide their fashion into single collections, designer Michael Sontag sees his creations as one unity which does not depend on season or age. Staying true to his fundamental style, he always succeeds in rediscovering his vision of fashion, presenting us a different perspective on what he considers fashionable. In a complex creation process, models emerge which break borders and represent one harmonious entity.
Between the single clothing lines, there are no real boundaries and striking differences in style, while they are still dedicated to the specific seasons of a year. In this way, they are connected to, inspired by and of depending on each other. Expressionism plays a very crucial role here. With minimalist traits, Michael creates lavish effects. Discreet but also sophisticated details turn mere basics into novelties or transform classics into modern unique pieces.
This transformed minimalism marked by a discreet complexity can also be seen in the summer collection 2015. The design of the pieces is defined by small accentuations. Thus, the black little dress and the white shirt as fundamental basics belong to the assortment. However, decorative torn structures and maxi designs provide the clothing with a very expressive and eye-catching character. Furthermore, the designer simply knows how to handle fabrics to create amazing cuts. Draperies and purposely positioned seams are used to transform his fashion into a spectacle.
