The Melbourne Tour – G’Day Melbourne. How’s it goin’?

Hey mates,

My girls and I finally arrived in Melbourne. And we decided to ask
AirBnB to find a good stay. Fortunately, we found a very nice house in
Melbourne’s southern suburb. A woman offered one entire floor in house,
including two beautifully decorated bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. We
were pretty impressed by this lovely, cosy place. And also the owner was
a super-friendly and kind woman with two extremely cute puppies.

If you travel with some friends or your family, I really recommend
checking out Airbnb or find appartment hotels. You will
feel like at home. You have your own place and space to cook your own
meals, which can save a lot of money!
The three of us paid around 200 bucks each for this house. That was
quite a good catch, I guess.

On our first day, we just checked out the location around our place.
Everything kind of reminded me of Berlin’s hipster areas with a touch of
London flair. Actually, we wanted to start our awesome trip with some
special food, but as we were so tired, we just head over to Hungry
Jack’s (also known as Burger King ;)). And also, we went to a popular
coffee shop chain called San Churro’s. Trust me, they have amazing hot
chocolates! The funny thing was that everyone of us prefers different
kinds of chocolate. Stella chose dark chocolate since she prefers less
sweet tastes, while I chose white chocolate. … Probably the sweetest
one. And my other girl, whose name is also Stella, had a cup of milk
chocolate.

Our first impression? Well, I really liked it. Melbourne is totally
different to Sydney. Everything has a more artsy and more vintage look
while Sydney looks more modern. My friends were not that impressed as
they didn’t really like the old looking buildings and „dirty“, old
streets and trains. I think everyone has their own special taste. As I
already mentioned last time, Melbourne is Sydney’s „enemy“. If you are
more on the modern, clean, neat and posh side, you will probably prefer
Sydney. If you are more on the hip, artsy, classic side, you might
choose Melbourne. But anyways, this was only our first day. 😉

So stay tuned and find out about my dinner at a German restaurant in
Melbourne, next time.

Yours,

H.Trang
