adidas Originals presents a vibrant collection by the innovative fashion designer Mary Katrantzou. The collection contains shoes as well as clothing and captures all eyes through its innovative designs. The sneakers got those trendy, feminine aesthetics through subversive artwork with architectural shapes. The designer was inspired by the adidas archives in which the historical running shoe collections from the 70’s and 80’s were stored. The iconic running shoes Equipment Racer and ZX 5000 were the main sources for her new designs.
But make no mistake, although the designs of the apparel collection had their origins in running shoes, they’re still full of feminine silhouettes that drape themselves onto the feet, that’s what Mary Katrantzou was keeping a keen eye on. The fashion line is marked by a vibrant color palette and her extraordinary sense for trendy patterns. The collection consists of coat – and mini dresses, track-suit tops, leggings and waisted t-shirts
“Like so many other kids I grew up in this world with adidas shoes on my feet. I am very pleased that I can incorporate my visions into the world of this global brand. Prints and colors really match a broad target group, which is why it was extremely important to me that this collection responds to a broader audience. The adidas Originals by Mary Katrantzou collection will be in stores as from November, 15.
