The concept behind Fashion East is really clever. Not only one, but several designers show you their fashionable visions for the seasons. This non-profit initiative was founded in 2000 in order to offer a platform to young designers. Each season offers six designers an opportunity to show their ideas at the Fashion Week London.
This winter is a big chance for the rising and aspiring womenswear designers Ashley Williams, Helen Lawrence and Louise Alsop. All of them will present their individual ideas of fall and winter fashion. Ashley Williams creates modern women’s clothing which is refreshing, self-confident, exciting and has even convinced celebrities like Rita Ora. Geometric patterns, bold prints and leather elements define her collection, which revives overalls and straight dresses. Helen Lawrence proves her sense of individuality. Her collection is based on asymmetric cuts, waves, curves and edges. Her modern fashion captures urban cities in a cool and feminine way. The last designer is London-based fashion creator Louise Alsop, who packs summer 2014 into modern-edged silhouettes, flowing lines and crazy contrasts. Both color contrasts and different fabrics provide the garments with charisma.
Versatility can be also found in the designs for men. One talented fashion creator who dedicated himself to men’s wear is Alan Taylor. His fashion is inspired by the classic suit made of sturdy and exceptional fabrics. Oversized elements, prints and colorful contrasts mark the image of a modern man. This style is also followed by Bobby Abley, who combines masculine cuts with playful Disney prints. On the other hand, we have Craig Green, who prefers exceptionality, which he also shows in his special, extravagant collection. He also uses bold or classic color shades, which become special with the help of unique cuts inspired by the orient. Garments with leather elements, ornaments and oversized coats define the look further.
