The Couture Fashion Week has organized fashion shows in various, renowned venues several times a year since 2003. The next one takes place in the Crowne Plaza hotel on the Times Square in Manhattan, New York from September 5 to 7. Various designers present exquisite clothing and accessories on a catwalk here. Art plays an important role and is framed with several seminars and festivals.
The designer Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar returns to the Couture Fashion Week New York for the fourth time. In the last 30 years, the Russian-born woman worked as a costume designer for several theatres in Russia and the USA and her creations were awarded several times. Her latest collection “50 Shades of Red“ will be presented on September 5 at 8 pm. It contains dresses combining Russian opulence with western coolness colored in various shades of red. “Renaissance Drama“ was her last collection presented at the CFW.
Alexandra Popescu-York is one of this season’s exhibitors as well. The Romanian based in New York shows her spring & summer collection 2015 at the CFW on 07 September at 6 pm. She’s the only designer who also an artist, thus her creations are presented with her paintings in the background. During the creation of her collection, she was mainly inspired by art this time and unites several artists of various periods in her designs. Thus, her fashion reflects her love of art. Beside all the fashion shows, a daily “Fashion Photgraphy Workshop“ takes place from 09 am to 08 pm. The range of this Couture Event is extended through art exhibitions, further seminars and festivals in the evening. This event constitutes an import part of the New York Fashion Week taking place from 04 September 2014 in various districts of the metropolis.
