“Tracks“ tells the story of Robyn Davidsons’ trip through the Australian desert in 1977. She is accompanied by three camels, a dog, an Aborigine and a photographer of National Geographic, Rick Smolan, who takes pictures of the young adventuress in chosen places. The question as to why she wants to do this can’t be answered extensively, she just searches solitude and hopes to find herself. The route has many obstacles. The 27-years-old woman has to endure water shortage, wild animals and more to survive her great adventure.

The film focuses on the protagonists’ solitude, thus the pervasively played role can be attentively followed up. This represents a significant plus factor of the film, which also offers fantastic panoramas. “Tracks“ provides a convincing plot embedded in a terrific landscape and represents a gripping film drama discussing the theme “Who am I?“

For as incredible as it may sound: the plot is based on a true story!
