Olympia is tradition. Ever since the year 1896 the biggest sports events have been taken place all over the world. It’s an event of which every country takes pride in being the host and it is a tradition that says that the host countries build whole villages for the athletes. In those villages the athletes will find shelter. Sadly, those villages don’t have a purpose any more after the games are finished. They proceed on being ghost towns, perfect for Urban Explorers because exploring those villages can be extremely interesting!

A lot of those places were extremely well made, which is the reason why they look like they’ve been abandoned for only days – not years. All it takes is a little bit of work and you could host another year of the games right then and there. Here in Germany you can find Olympic villages in both Berlin and Munich. The one in Berlin can be visited whilst the one in Munich has been transformed into residential homes. But in a lot of countries on this earth’s surface have been neglecting their villages and thus created the perfect platform for Urban Explorers to explore everything they like.
