My dear fellow gamers,
The gamescom is just around the corner!
But I’ve got some bad news for you. If you don’t have a ticket, you’ll need some luck to be able to visit Germany’s largest gaming fair on Saturday, August 16th, 2014. You can go looking for a Saturday ticket at your local Saturn store. And even though you can buy a ticket right at the mess at 2pm, I would really advise against doing so.
When I went to the gamescom 2013, I also missed buying the Saturday ticket early and visited my friend with a Sunday ticket only. On Saturday I joined my friends anyway, hoping to get an afternoon ticket with another friend. At around 3pm we managed to get in, but we’ve been standing there since 11am. One third of the large group of waiting people didn’t even get it – the fair was too crowded already.
I can only suggest to everyone to visit this year’s gamescom too, especially the ones of you who live in the Ruhr Area and aren’t too far away from Cologne. Considering my experience, you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy yourself there – You get a whole bunch of shows, live concerts, sweepstakes and green parks to relax.
To me, it’s also worth mentioning that when compared to last year’s gamescom, the Saturday tickets were sold out a whole month sooner. Well, seems like you won’t feel lonely at this year’s gamescom. You can visit the gamescom 2014 in Cologne from the August 13th to August 17th.
