Over the Ocean is a post-rock band from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ben C., Jesse H., Joshua Whittle, Joshua Bogart and Nate C. are the 5 members of the band, and they integrate background sounds, such as those from movies or games, into their music.
They’ve always seen themselves as a live band, and that was how they gained a great deal of experience before the recording of their first album, Paper House – it’s a calm, moody and especially emotional album that deals mainly with human relationships.
Their second album, Be given to soil, continues where Paper House left off, both thematically and musically. It’s gloomier and has a much heavier sound than the previous album. Through this album, you realise that the band has matured and grown through new experiences.
Over the Ocean is a sensitive band whose songs speak of complex, emotional situations. Relax and enjoy their music.
